Description
PEROT SYSTEMS CORPORATION is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. It is currently looking for a Senior SMS Administrator to join our team in Plano, Texas (although this role can be conducted on a virtual basis from within the United States).

Job Responsibilities:
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, upgrading and configuring desktops, as well as patching & configuring servers. To do this you will build and test desktop/laptop images, work with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule, use configuration management suites to deploy software and patches and setup and maintain test environments. You will also develop, analyze, and maintain tools that support and automate processes for software releases.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum two years providing technical support of SMS 2003 or SCCM 2007 infrastructure including troubleshooting, patch management, imaging, SMS packaging and deploying solutions;

  • Overall knowledge of Windows server administration, including Active Directory and LDAP;

  • Fundamental understanding of networks, TCP protocol, firewalls, ports, proxies, and SSL;

  • Basic SQL server administration related to the support of SMS;

  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for interfacing with external customer and project teams.


    • Desired Skills:
  • Basic working knowledge of application packaging utilizing current technologies such as Wise, Microsoft Installer, and Installshield;

  • Experience and application in operations of any of the following software distribution methodologies:
    o Marimba / BMC CM
    o Altiris
    o Landesk;

  • Basic understanding of current scripting technologies, programming languages, and batch commands (specifically VB scripting);

  • ITIL fundamentals.


    • Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High School Diploma


    • This opportunity allows for the ability to work in a dynamic environment coupled with training and substantial growth potential. This position may require up to 25% travel, possible shift work and the commitment of 24 months in the Configuration Management Services team.
