Description
A growing company in the Tucson, Arizona area is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (SOA). We are looking for candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Tucson, AZ area. Once again, the position is in Tucson. This individual will act as a pathfinder for software support in new infrastructure technologies, including Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Clouds, and Grids. This work may include making product recommendations, installations, prototyping, and assisting migration of Legacy system into these technologies.

Required Skills:
The ability to adapt solutions from one environment to another, addressing new capabilities and system integration problems is required. In addition to understanding the new technologies, the selected candidate must be able to work with core signal processing algorithms, hardware control, GUI design, and database development. The right candidate will be expected to demonstrate disciplined work habits leading to products that are well-structured, documented, and carefully tested. This position will allow for direct interaction with end users and customers.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated mastery of SOA, cloud, or grid technologies (WebSphere, Tivoli, Systinet, AquaLogic, WebLogic, and Geronimo)
  • Highly motivated to learn new and existing technologies including SOA, cloud, grid, Digital Signal Processing, and communications theory
  • Demonstrated expertise in scientific programming with C, C++, or similar high-level language on Unix/Linux
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Ability to support multiple projects within the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with an Engineering/Math focus or other equivalent field of discipline
  • Relocation to sunny Tucson, Arizona
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired:
  • Experience with a variety of SOA, cloud, and grid technologies from multiple vendors
  • 5+ years of experience in practical system development and deployment
  • Experience with Python, Java, QT, and X-Midas or MATLAB
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering with engineering/math focus or other equivalent field of discipline
