We have an immediate need for a SR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (JAVA/J2EE)

JOB DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW
- This position is well suited for a candidate who has strong OOAD skills and should have several years (5+) experience utilizing Enterprise Java tools and technologies including IBM WebSphere and Oracle as a backend.
- Daily tasks include a significant amount of maintenance based code work.
- Additionally they would have good experience with Java Message Service, Web Services and JDBC because of some older J2EE interactions with the database
- This resource should also champion documentation best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of high volume, high performance, batch processing applications in Java.
- Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of high volume, high performance, high availability, online transaction processing applications in Java.
- Complies with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Java server-side development and architecture, preferably PL/SQL
- Development of multi-threaded applications
- Development of n-tier applications
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database schema design
- Experience with unit testing tools
- Experience with source code revision control (specifically Version Manager)
- Strong object-oriented analysis and design
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with C++ and C# a plus
