Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for the health and stability of the company's production database systems operating on a 24x7 schedule.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve real-time DB issues. Proactively schedules and monitors all database maintenance activities including backups, Index Maintenance and Consistency Checks. Responsible to ensure database backup and recovery procedures are tested and up to date. Responsible for forecasting and base lining database resource thresholds. Continued development of operational best practices. Responsible for the security and access to the production databases and database servers.QualificationsLevel of knowledge equivalent to MCDBA Must possess practical Windows experience Must display proficiency in the following T-SQL SQL Server Installation SQL Server database connection methodologies SQL Server Security Model Backup and Recovery Performance Tuning SQL Server Internals Replication Log Shipping Must demonstrate abilities in the following areas Attention to details Multi Tasking Interpersonal Skills Communication Skills Work in Team environment Must have practical experience tuning moderate to large SQL Server installations (over 250 GB) Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve — is a key aspect of position Must possess the ability to work independently, within the DBA team and with other teams 5 to 7 Years experience working as a SQL Server DBA with primary focus on production and operational support Experience working with SQL Server Integration Service Preferred Experience/Training/Education:MCDBA Certification Basic Oracle knowledge SQL Server cluster Data Warehouse experience SQL Server Notification Service Service Broker CLR Experience working with SQL Server Analysis Service Experience working with SQL Server Reporting Service A Bachelors Degree in MIS or other related computer field.
