Description
Robert Half Technology is in search of a Sr. SQL Server DBA for one of their clients. The Sr. SQL Server DBA will provide technical support for multiple SQL Server databases on many servers in production, development and test environments. This Sr. SQL Server DBA will be responsible for install and configure new servers and databases, and manage permissions, maintain or upgrade existing applications, monitor availability and performance of production databases and servers, provide leadership and technical expertise for others in group. This Sr. SQL Server DBA will also be participating and performing migrations into Development/ Production environments, analyze and resolve complex technical problems, including performance tuning, and application design and debugging, monitor database backups and maintain recovery problems.

Experience/Skills
The right Sr. SQL Server DBA must have extensive hands-on experience in database administration and SQL usage, Strong MS SQL Server database administration experience using SQL Server 2000 and 2005. Experience in large databases, supporting OLTP applications, and Replication technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Microsoft Certification (MCDBA) a plus. Experience with DTS, SSIS, and SSAS. Experience working in a transactional SQL language (ie T-SQL). Experience with high volume, high profile enterprise database operations. In addition, the right candidate should have experience with domains, account administration, and windows security also experience with large scale databases (ie in the 100+GB range). Experience with Database clustering, replication and merge replication. Must have experience with index, query optimization, and table partitioning on large SQL servers.
