Description
Need 1 Senior SQL Server DBA with heavy experience in DTS, Replication, Bulk Copy and Complex indexing.

Summary of Job Purpose and Function
The Database Developer will be responsible for analyzing FoxPro database and designing and building new SQL Server databases.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Interact with system analysts and the development team to identify data needs and potential issues
Identify data integrity issues
Create data cleaner scripts to address identified data integrity issues
Create upsize scripts to move FoxPro data into SQL Server
Identify and present opportunities to improve data structures
Implement new data architecture in SQL Server
Maintain multiple non-production SQL Server environments

Experience/Skills
Required Capabilities
Education: Bachelors Degree Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2+ years experience with SQL Server. Practical experience of upsizing FoxPro databases into SQL Server.


Communication Skills: College level written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to communicate effectively up, down, and across the entire organization. Also required are effective listening abilities and detailed note taking skills. Basic knowledge of UML.

Interpersonal Skills: Professional in attitude, demeanor and dress. Communicates and effectively interacts with a diverse group of team members with a courteous and tactful manner.

Organizational skills: Able to prioritize and organize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Must have the capacity to balance both short- and long-term issues effectively and handle many simultaneous and often conflicting and changing priorities. Basic understanding of standard SDLC.

Computer Skills:
Expert level knowledge in normalizing and data architecting
Expert level knowledge in writing SQL Server stored procedures and functions
Knowledge of FoxPro and .NET ideal
Medical industry experience a plus

Special Working Conditions
Working hours: The candidate will be required to carry a pager during weekends and holidays to service priority The candidate must be able to respond to a request within 1 hour of being paged and work to resolve the request to resolution.
