Job Description:

We are actively seeking a Senior Software Developer to work at our company headquarters in McLean, VA. This person will fulfill the following responsibilities:

Duties:
Translate high-level requirements into a sound system architecture by providing high-level design, coding, reviews, project and program management, risk analysis, and business impact analysis.
Provide technical expertise to and coordinate development efforts of a team of experienced and junior software developers in designing, implementing, testing, and packaging complex, object-oriented software applications.
Provide quality programming code in a timely manner

Requirements:

The successful Senior Software Developer candidate will have the following skills and experience:
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience developing computer software for a Unix environment
A minimum of four (4) years of experience in architecture, design and implementation of complex object-oriented software applications, using C++ and/or Java (J2EE).
Development of one or more software applications in Java programming language (experience with commercial product development is beneficial).
Ability to effectively communicate with customers, prospects, sales engineers, product managers, quality assurance, and marketing.
Real-world experience designing and developing applications that communicate over a network using TCP/IP sockets, and using at least one higher-level middleware system. Experience with Web Services is beneficial.
At least one year of experience directing a team of software developers; experience with adapters; and experience with systems packages such as BMC, Tivoli, HP Openview, Remedy, or CA Unicenter is beneficial.
Some travel (up to 10%) may be required
