Description
Our client is a growing Atlanta based software firm. Its products automat the analysis and testing of auditors and fraud examiners to reduce ongoing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance costs and drive operational benefits. As a virtual auditor, the software continuously monitors 100% of the transactions and business activities in financial systems to report on the effectiveness of internal controls and prevent losses due to errors, misuse and fraud.

Major Functional Responsibilities
. Primary responsibility for one or more modules, working independently, and delivering the software and supplementary information needed by others, including work estimates, requirements analysis, designs, unit tests and documentation.
. Contribute to and/or lead architectural design efforts
. Assist with other modules and in delivering the product to customers
. Help investigate and resolve QA and 3rd line technical support requests.
. Define metrics for software engineering process, measure them, analyze issues and improve the process

Skills and Experience
. BS in Computer Science required
. Minimum 3 years experience in software product development
. Proficient with Linux or Unix command line interface
. Proficient in Java and server technologies such as J2EE, Struts and JMS
. Minimum 3 years experience developing software products that use a relational database such as Oracle, DB/2, etc.
. Able to elicit complete, specific and measurable system requirements from ambiguous feature descriptions.
. Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
. Able to work independently toward an objective, defining tasks along the way, monitoring progress and communicating status
. Familiar and conversant with development methodologies such as the Rational Unified Process and eXtreme Programming, as well as team / group development tools such as source code repositories Able and willing to adhere to corporate standards and best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement
. Strong oral and written communication skills
. Desirable: experience with data warehouses and decision support systems
. Desirable: C++, including STL
