Description
IMS Consultants is currently seeking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our team. The Sr. Software Engineer will assume a lead role in the architecture, design, development, test and integration of application software on a small software development team. The Sr. Software Engineer will ensure that the team develops software with attention to quality and according to project processes and procedures.

The primary responsibilities will include the following:
  • Provide technical leadership over a small team of 3 - 5 software developers
  • Ensure that documented processes and conventions are maintained throughout the development effort
  • Report team progress to project engineer/program manager
  • Analyze system and marketing requirements
  • Create a corresponding set of software requirements
  • Develop requirements based system level architecture and software designs
  • Develop software to Implement the design and develop automated unit tests to ensure that the software meets functionality and quality requirements
  • Participate in peer reviews of software designs and source code
  • Represent IMS as a technical point of contact to customers
  • Provide support in preparation and presentation of technical material to IMS customers

    Experience/Skills

    Successful candidates in this role will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years software engineering experience
  • Experience developing and documenting system architectures object oriented designs
  • In-depth understanding of MS.Net framework and software development in C#
  • Ability to work in a team environment and assume a technical leadership position
  • Experience in developing & maintaining software plans
  • Experience in managing software project scope
  • Experience in all phases of software testing, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing
  • Ability to support software integration as well as system & acceptance testing
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and assume a technical leadership position
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering


    • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing C# and C++ software using Linux
  • Experience with Linux scripting languages, particularly bash and Python
  • Experience developing embedded software applications
