Description
Plays an active role during all phases of the Project Life Cycle. Adds technical input during the planning, analysis and design phases of a project. Is responsible for the “how to” questions, data elements, calculations and creating prototypes/models. Is involved at the development level in complex customizations and new application development. Is active in the validation stage in order to ensure quality deliverables. Plays an integral role in system integration.



Responsibilities:

Software development in Oracle Forms and Reports, PL/SQL,MQ, Java, ProC, NT/Unix server environment.
Combination of system enhancements, new development, and support in a dynamic and fast paced 24x7x365 environment.
Designs, documents and prototypes software solutions.
Leads projects of medium to large complexity within the team.
Participates or leads in the gathering of user requirements.
Participates or leads code review sessions with developers.
Assesses situations and suggests systemic process improvements.
Provides input during design sessions.
Prepares time and effort to management and project status reports.
Follows industry accepted project management methodology and standards on all projects.
Learn the intricate details of the existing system to be able to Support it, Analyze it and Enhance it and perform as the ‘go-to’ person.



Minimum Requirements:

8 or more years experience in software development
Bachelor’s degree
Expert in Oracle Forms 10g and Reports 10g, PL/SQL for Oracle 10g database in NT/Linux server environment
Experienced in Core Java with JDBC and Shell scripting
Exposure to XML, ADF, Pro*C, MQ Series
Willing to have on-call/pager support duty
Ability to work well with others and independently
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Working knowledge of source code control

Retek experience
Retail business experience
PVCS exposure - or like CMdf-tc
