THE POSITION:
DTN is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of MIS professionals. The selected individual will be heavily involved in the development and enhancement of .Net, Visual Basic and SQL Server-based applications. Assignments include converting legacy systems to newer Microsoft technologies, production support/enhancing existing Microsoft applications and successfully partnering with the business community to provide high-value technical solutions.

FUNCTIONS:
. Utilize business experience with back-end administrative systems (i.e. sales, marketing, order management, financial and warehouse) to effectively engage with internal/external customers
. Translate business requirements into technical designs
. Ensure that designs contain adequate controls and maintain data integrity
. Perform technical tasks using a Systems Development Life Cycle development approach
. Produce high quality application/enhancement designs using current Microsoft development tools
. Apply proper development methods and practices
. Construct efficient, well-documented code, quickly and effectively
. Produce and carry out effective test/implementation plans
. Lead projects to successful completion

QUALIFICATIONS:
. B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related field
. 5+ years applied application development experience
. .Net, Visual Basic, COM+, C#
. SQL Server 2000/Reporting Services 2003
. ASP, VB Script/JavaScript, XML
. Hardworking and a desire to learn is a must
. Must be creative, have professional demeanor and work effectively in a team environment
. Positive attitude to solve customer problems
. Ability to adapt to new technologies in a fairly short time
. Ability to coordinate and perform several assignments concurrently
. Oracle experience a plus
