Description
Senior software development engineer responsible for software life-cycle development based on state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and development environments providing solutions in the C4I problem domain. Responsibilities include identification / deployment of leading edge software technology, development of software architectures and software standards, and tool identification, analysis, and selection. Software engineering products will be developed/modified to document software requirements analysis, design, code and test. Technologies currently employed include: Java, C++, component-based architecture, RDBMS, visualization, and networking. UML/OO based development methodologies are being used in a software process oriented environment. The development environment is LINUX and SolarisEngineering degree (preferably MSCS/EE) with a minimum of 6 years of software engineering experience directly related to the following minimum requirements. All candidates must have experience with software architecture development, software application design, implementation, and test of software using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and development environments. This experience must include OO design/programming, multithreaded programming, distributed programming, and Java programming. Preferred experience includes Java Technologies (RMI, Jini, J2EE), Web Services (SOAP, UDDI), C++ and Standard Template Library, UI development tools, and XML. Experience with any of the following is a plus; Software Security, Clustering/Grid computing technologies, Map-based Visualization products, real-time programming. Candidates must have demonstrated excellent oral/written communication skills, and interpersonal skills to support interaction with customer representatives, team members, and internal management. The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast paced / dynamic team environment and possess time management skills to meet schedules. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen. Position is contract for 12-18 months with option for direct employment.
