Located in downtown San Rafael, our office is an easy commute for anyone living in SF, the North Bay or the East Bay. This position reports to the Director of Software Engineering. The Senior Software Engineer leads the efforts of maintaining, enhancing, and transforming our existing applications into more robust and efficient systems. Our applications range from internet web, web services and intranet applications to windows services and windows applications. Our business is data-centric, which means the candidate must possess a strong foundation of database knowledge and experience with MS SQL Server 2005. This knowledge must master relational OLTP database development, design, and optimization. Ideally, the candidate has data warehouse and OLAP experience. Experience implementing SSIS packages is even better. The ability to improve database performance by performance tuning techniques is also a desired qualifier.This person is a problem solver who is offers a professional approach toward engineering solid software solutions. These systems must be built for high performance, scale, maintainability, and extensibility. Further, the individual must exhibit leadership, accountability, and a practical sense of risk management. Creativity and involvement is encouraged. Your ideas matter in this collaborate group. We have adopted the SCRUM development methodology, so having experience with it is a huge plus.
