Description
Robert Half Technology is accepting applications for a six month contract as a Senior Software Engineer to join our client's team that is building an entirely new architecture for their online business. This new system will incorporate all parts of the organization and have an interface/portal for customers. This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a team working on new development and integration issues. Description of the Senior Software Engineer position:
  • Provides analysis, design and development, as well as integration of any software features needed for current and future product releases for the software development department; helps lead a team of software engineers by providing guidance, mentoring and functional specifications; and provides technical input and feedback on various features of the product.
  • Responsible for the analysis of business, engineering and scientific problems and is charged with the documentation and development of well-defined methods, procedures and programs in the delivery of practical systems solutions.
  • Assists in programming, troubleshooting and management of problems affecting IT software, as well as developing these areas for future expansion and sustaining the highest system reliability and performance possible.
  • Provides analysis, specifications, design and development of computerized information systems solutions for business, engineering and/or scientific problems to meet expanding or changing business requirements.
  • Defines and develops practical information system specifications utilizing pseudo-code, flowcharts, block diagrams, charts and layouts.
  • Provides lead development coding of features.
  • Reviews code, supervises deliverables, and provides functional and technical leadership to non-senior software engineers on the team.
  • Monitors timelines and on-time delivery of code.
  • Communicates team status and issues to the Director.
  • Develops and encourages Best Practices.
  • Participates as a subject matter expert during project analysis, definition and development phases. Confers with stakeholders and studies effectiveness of systems flow, data usage and manual or automated processes to identify ineffective or inefficient systems.
  • Conceives, creates, develops, establishes and publishes new programming techniques, methods, procedures, approaches and standards working with basic and advanced applications system design techniques and methodologies.

    Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent technical degree in computer science or related field and 5+ years of programming experience, or an equivalent combination of education and additional programming experience.
  • 2+ years experience in leading other developers, or 2+ years project management experience.
  • 5+ years .NET professional experience (v2.0/3.0/3.5).
  • 3+ years Microsoft Windows forms, services experience.
  • 2+ year web services development experience utilizing html, javascript and CSS.
  • 1+ year Infragistics control development experience (Windows Forms preferred).
  • Proven Object Oriented Programming skillset.
  • Expert in programming with C#, ASP.NET, VB, SQL, XML.
  • Experience using Source Control.
  • UML, Agile/XP with other software process experience.
