May perform one or more of the following:


Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system
1. Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review and software acceptance reviews.
2. Design and develop complex software systems, including design, coding and testing. Formulate and design software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of the design.
3. Make frequent contacts with customers both internal and external concerning design and maintenance of software. 4. Represent the company in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.
5. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
6. Support proposal efforts and present analysis, test and design of software.
7. Coordinates installation of software system and the engineering configuration management software changes/development. 8. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Interacts with all levels of the organization and external representatives at a higher level. A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience. Four years of related experience.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows and C++ required. Knowledge of Access, UNIX, PVCS and assembly is desired. May mentor some employees. May be a team leader on complex sub-tasks that require close coordination of multiple engineers. Task planning and statusing skills is desired.
We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering Team.

- BSCE, BSEE, or BSCS
- 0-2 years experience
- Travel up to 25%
- Technical Requirements: c, C++, Embedded RTOS

- C and C++ software development skills, preferably in an embedded environment (Quadros RTXC, QNX, WinCE, Nucleus)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Debugging, testing, troubleshooting and problem solving
- Good interpersonal skills and team building skills

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good understanding of software development life cycle processes, including configuration management;
- Understanding of base EE concepts, microprocessor design, communications, general purpose I/O, RF communications, assembly language;
- Good practical working experience with embedded real-time operating systems;
- Object Oriented Analysis/Design/Programming (UML preferred).
