Description
We are looking for a Senior level System Software Engineer to implement and maintain hardware/software configurations for Sun Solaris and Windows systems in support of the Peoplesoft 8 HCM and FN projects. Generates, installs, implements and maintains systems-level software packages running on multi-user high end Sun Solaris servers. These software packages include: Solaris OS and clustering, disk and file management systems, backup applications, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SunOne products, Perl, Java, and Secure Shell.

Designs and integrates Solaris and Windows systems with SANs for disk storage and tape backup.
Develops, installs and maintains utility programs/shell scripts to handle system level functions.
Provides technical assistance to persons designing and implementing computer hardware/software systems/interfaces that will run on Unix platform.
Assists service engineers, vendor software support personnel and other vendor hardware/software specialists in isolating and resolving hardware and software problems.
Monitors performance of Solaris servers. Isolates, corrects and improves operational efficiency through changes to the software or reconfiguration of the hardware.
Provides technical deliverables to project managers using formal PM methodologies.
Assist with project coordination of project team, vendors, consultants and/or other agencies to complete Peoplesoft-related sub-projects or complex tasks.
Develops and maintains documentation for operational functions, project planning, and systems software and hardware configurations.
Required:

4 years experience as a Senior Unix Systems Programmer/Administrator/Engineer

4 years experience with IP network, switches and routers

4 years experience with installing and maintaining Peoplesoft versions 7 and 8

2 years experience with n-Tiered architecture

2 years experience with SANs (Storage Area Networks) across multiple platforms

2 years experience with Windows 2003/2000/NT

2 years experience with Oracle



Preferred:

4 years experience with change management

4 years experience working under formal project management methodologies

Experience with EMC and Veritas products

Experience with BMC's Control-M scheduler
