Responsibilities:
Facilitate long-term customer relationships through the delivery of technical solutions to customer business problems.
Maintain technology expertise & currency in Solaris and Oracle Database software.
Provide approximately 50% presales and 50% post-sales delivery .
Expertly deliver Solaris and Oracle based solutions to company customer base as well as provide pre- and post-sales Engineering support to company Sales Team.
Years of Experience:
5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure design, development and deployment, as a Database Architect.
Required Expertise:
This role must demonstrate ability to maintain and expand upon their expertise in Solaris and Oracle Technologies.
They must be able to communicate current features, benefits and other intricacies of required technologies to our customers in a coherent and organized manner, and support pre- and post-sales consulting services.
This role must demonstrate strong documentation skills in the development of deliverables such as design specifications and proposals.
Pre-sales Skill Set This role must demonstrate superior knowledge of SUN Hardware, Solaris 10, and Oracle software. For SUN, Solaris 10, M-Series servers, X86 servers. For Oracle, current Oracle database and RAC.
Post-sales Skill Set - This role must demonstrate implementation expertise in Solaris 10 and Oracle technologies including: Jumpstart, Sun Cluster, Database performance and sizing.
Desired Expertise:
Strong knowledge of current HDS and NetApp storage arrays and software.
Expertise with Oracle database migration.
Strong understanding of MySql and/or Microsoft SQL databases.
Required Certifications:
Any current certifications in one or more of the following: Solaris 9 or 10
Desired Certifications:
NetApp, Veritas, VMware or Citrix certifications highly desirable.
Required Education:
BS in technology or 5 years in the Information Technology field
Desired Education:
MS in technology or 7 years in the Information Technology field
