Senior Solution Engineer Location: Newport Beach, California. Job Description:Day is a leading international provider of integrated content management, portal management and digital asset management software managing and unifying digital business information, applications, and processes through the web. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong technical background and good communication skills eager to work in a rapidly growing, fast paced environment.Function *The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in Day's flagship product, and consult and mentor Day's customers and partners during the course of an implementation. *Other responsibilities include training and providing high quality technical support to Day's partners and customers. *Candidate should be willing to travel extensively and regularly (up to 100%) and be on short/medium term assignments (no relocation) on the respective continent and to some extent, intercontinental.Reporting Lines * The Senior Solution Engineer reports to the Senior Director of GSSG USExperienceThe requirements for this position include, but are not limited to the following: * Either a bachelor's degree in computer science plus 4-6 years experience or Masters Degree in computer science plus 3 years of system integration experience in the Web and/or ECMS technologies space or equivalent mix of education and experience. * Candidate should have at least 3 years of Java programming experience. Proficiency in development of Java Server Pages and related technologies (Taglibs, EJBs, JavaBeans and Java per se) is essential. * Practical experience in HTML, CSS and overall presentation layer creation as well as experience with installation, administration and debugging of Servlet Engines or any commercial Application Server and the usage of respective technologies (Java Servlet, Java Server Pages) is required. * The ideal candidate should also have substantial experience working with different operating systems, relational databases as well as proficiency in XML and related technologies. * Experience and ability to conceptually understand the implications and propose architectures for large Web based solutions of different sizes, their implications on the solution concept and development as well as understanding the impact of caching and other performance related measures. * Past experience working in the Content Management space for a software company is an asset.Personal profile * Candidate must be proficient in computer related technology and have strong communication and decision making skills in the above mentioned technologies. * Proficiency of Object-Oriented Programming Methodology & Practice, ideally mastering the designing and programming of applications using Object Oriented Programming Methodology utilizing Java language constructs.df-tc
