John Deere Agricultural Equipment Des Moines is seeking a Senior Solution Systems Engineer to provide functional leadership in regard to module level responsibility for the solution system on self propelled agricultural sprayers. In this position, you will:



Lead design responsibilities associated with self propelled agricultural sprayer solution systems including pumps, valves, control components, etc.
Provide leadership to cross functional teams to develop detailed engineering design specifications regarding solution system function and operator interaction.
Use Six Sigma tools to develop and release design of components and/or sub systems for current and future product programs.
Monitor and evaluate field test activities to confirm functionality of design.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or 7+ years of equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience

Demonstrated leadership and technical skills in large self propelled functional equipment
Become an expert user of critical technology relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical and fluid mechanics systems associated with sprayers.
Excellent communication skills - must interface successfully with Engineers and personnel of other disciplines.
3-5 years product engineering experience.
Analyzes, prioritizes, and successfully manages to resolution a large number of simultaneous issues.
Proactive approach to problem resolution.
Ability to gain commitment and action from others who do not directly report to this position.
Fundamental understanding of FEA and CFD.
Experience with Pro/E.
Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Knowledge in Root Cause Analysis processes.
Knowledge of Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) processes and execution methodologies.
Desired Skills and Experience

Farm experience and/or agricultural product design experience
Experience reviewing and creating specifications for products.
Experience servicing and/or maintaining machinery.
Statistical Analysis capability.
