Description
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect in our Technology Division located in our Worcester, MA office.

The Solution Architect is responsible for leading the process of converting business requirements into an architecture and design that will become the blueprint for the solution being created. This solution will be based upon design patterns that the architect has been involved with in the past through reading and staying abreast of the latest techniques, through personal experience, as well as through leveraging the collective experience within our Architecture Practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in close partnership with the business and our Enterprise Architecture team aligning technical strategies to the business strategies.
  • Research and evaluate software/hardware products
  • Advise Management of options, risk vs. cost, benefits and other impacts on solution decisions
  • Build flexible and responsive technology architectures
  • Establish technical standards and procedures
  • Develop white papers on current and future architecture trends
  • Communicate, educate, and mentor others

    Skills/Experience:

  • Analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
  • Analysis and Strategic planning experience
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Consulting, leading and mentoring experience
  • Property & Casualty experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 - 8 Years of Solutions Architect Experience

    Technical Skills:

  • Strong J2EE and SOA Experience Required
  • UML Modeling
  • Experience Leveraging Industry Design Patterns
  • Rules Engine Experience
  • Web 2.0 Experience particularly focused on RIA
