Our client is a major publishing firm with locations throughout the US. They have a current need at their Long Island location for a Sr. Storage Administrator.Responsibilities: Functions as a lead in Enterprise Storage Management and manages/maintains a solid data protection design for internal and external recoveries. Manages data protection planning by maintaining a proper recovery environment through monitoring, recommending and designing implementations. Interacts with user groups to meet their backup/recovery needs. Interacts with UNIX System Administrators and Tivoli Storage Manager Administrators for coordinated results. Leads administration of storage with an emphasis on storage performance. Uses storage area network and storage monitoring tools to help determine and correct performance bottlenecks. Suggests and implements performance solutions on a server and storage basis. Interacts with vendors to introduce solutions and recommendations and assists in correcting problems.
