Description
This position is with the Extramural Systems Branch (ESB) of the Office of Technology and Information Systems (OTIS), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). They NIAID seeks an experienced Linux/Unix systems administrator familiar with clustered environments to implement, maintain and develop an Apple Bioinformatics Installation. Additional duties will include support for /X based security appliances and assisting with Windows server administration.

A Bachelors Degree or equivalent and 6-8 years of experience is required.

Specific Skills Required:
~ 2-3 years experience in both Linux/Unix environment
~ Windows Enterprise Server Management experience
~ Preferred experience with mixed UNIX/Windows environment
~ Strong Security Management background
~ Responsible documentation of systems, duties and configurations
~ Installations of hardware and operating systems involving vendors, network and security managers
~ Develop and implement automation for repetitive tasks
~ Configuration and monitoring of appropriate security mechanisms
~ Coordination of hardware diagnosis and replacement with vendors
~ Disaster recovery planning and execution
