Description
The Omaha office of Sogeti is looking to hire a full-time Senior System DBA to work on projects in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Requires:

. Associate Degree in Data Processing or related field experience.

. Must have 4 or more years experience working as DB2 System Database Administrator or System Programmer.

. Must have 3 years experience installing, configuring, and supporting IBM DB2 UDB for OS/390 or z/OS software.

. At least 3 years experience working with System Modification Program Extended (SMP/E) to install DB2 products on z/OS.

. Must have working knowledge of HFS directories/files and be able to support UNIX System Services on z/OS.

. At least 3 years experience installing and working with CA/Unicenter DB2 products (i.e. Database Analyzer, Log Analyzer, Detector, RC/Migrator, and Batch Processor).

. Experience installing at least 3 of these mainframe products listed: Data Propagator, DB2PM, DB/Attach, QMF, Omegamon for DB2, File Aid for DB2, or Move for DB2 a must have requirement.

. Must have experience installing and working with IMS and DB/Control.

. Must have familiarity with DB2 Catalog tables and have experience in the design, creation, and maintenance of DB2 objects.

. Must have 3 years experience and the ability to understand and execute various support utilities (i.e. copy, runstats, loads, reorg, modify, etc.) required to support backup, recovery, and reorganization of databases, to verify data integrity, and to accomplish space and performance monitoring.

. Must have a working knowledge of the Plan and Package bind process, including the effective use of the different bind options.

. Must have knowledge of SQL and programming efficiencies used in COBOL II/COBOL z/OS programs.

. Must have experience in and understanding of granted authority privileges including those at the System, Database, Plan, Collection, Package, Table, and Use levels.

. Must be a self-starter and be able to learn and apply new technology.

. Must have above average communication skills (oral, interviewing, leadership, written, presentation).


The following requirements are preferred but not mandatory for this position.

. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field experience.

. Working knowledge and experience with commit/restart and/or checkpoint/restart techniques plus.

. Experience with client server environment (experience should include LAN applications that have data served from a S390 or z900 mainframe) a plus

. Use of Lotus Notes mail and calendar tools a plus.

. Use of MS-Office suite of tools a plus.
