Description
The Senior Systems Administrator has a mastery of the Systems Administrator skills and works under limited direction. This position includes responsibility for ensuring that Systems Administration processes, procedures, and documentation remain up-to-date and consistent with current technologies. The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting and support of computer systems and networks. This position will work with the Division of the CIO to leverage resources and ensure compliance with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's IT policies and practices. Associate's Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience with at least five years experience required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Demonstrated technical success in providing personal computer services Extensive knowledge of personal computer networks, protocols, and communications methods Extensive knowledge of personal computer hardware and operating system software including LINUX.
