Description
Robert Half Technology is currently seeking a Senior level Systems Administrator with a specialty in VMWare ESX. The Senior level Systems Administrator will operate internally with our client's server Engineering staff. This position will include all facets of managing the daily operational needs of the organization as well as operating as a resource on various projects that are currently underway for the department. In some cases, this individual will operate as a single point of contact to work with the project teams to build Engineering related project plans, complete architectural designs and implement various solutions in line with the particular project. In other cases, the Systems Administrator may operate as part of an engineering team. For all cases, the consultant will need to be self motivated and be able to operate independently, including the ability to run down answers or information they may need to complete specific tasks or projects. Responsibilities would also include, sharing on-call responsibilities and travel as necessary.

Experience/Skills
Senior Systems Administrators with the following qualifications should apply immediately!Detailed understanding and hands-on experience with:VMWare ESX 3.01 VMWare Certified Professional preferredHands-on technical experience and expertise in a progressively complex environment utilizing a combination of MS Windows NT/2000/2003 and a thorough, in-depth and applicable understanding of client/server configuration, connectivity and design. Demonstrated advanced-level proficiency and expertise in the installation, maintenance, configuration, optimization and monitoring of MS Windows NT/2000/2003 platforms, servers, peripherals, racking equipment and server-attached computer hardware and server-based network applications and services. Advanced-level proficiency with the installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of server-based applications such as: MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, Internet Information Server, MS DNS/DHCP/WINS Servers, Citrix Metaframe and Windows Terminal Server and MS Active Directory Windows Scripting experience (at least Windows Batch filescripting, but VBS/ PERL or similar are highly desirable) Must be available for after-hours and weekend work, as needed, Good verbal and written communication skills, Ability to take on a technical lead position as needed Soft Skills include:Good task and time management skills Ability to be detailed orientated provide through documentation Project management experience Ability to work in a team Good communication skills
