Senior Systems Administrator

SolTech is looking to hire a full time Senior Systems Administrator.

The position requires an individual that is able to:

• Implement and manage the information technology infrastructure (including servers, networking, information security, and telecommunications)
• Manage mission critical systems, including e-mail servers, backup server, applications Servers (Jboss/Tomcat), and Back Office servers.
• Provide technical support to PC users, including troubleshooting hardware problems and supporting desktop software applications (eg, Microsoft Office).
• Provide helpdesk support for Web application to manage the accreditation business process.
• Maintain an inventory of all information technology equipment (network devices, servers, end-user machines) and software licenses.
• Work closely with local and remote staff, such as database administrators and software developers, in supporting all information technology requirements.

The sucessful candidate will have a proven background in the activities described, but will also need to be a helpful, cheerful individual that prides themselves on management of technology. Broken computer infrastructure is a reason for, and not an interruption of your work, Technically illiterate employees needing help will be the norm and not the exception and should leave each encounter with you with a positive experience. You will be professional and capable.

In order to be able to thrive in this environment, typically you would have

• 5+ years experience with Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• A good working knowledge of multiple operating systems: Windows, Linux.
• A level of comfort with TCP/IP networking including DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
• Working knowledge of enterprise-level applications (eg, content management, customer relationship management, etc).
