Description
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing and implementing complete Systems solutions for the e-Business Infrastructure. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the procedures and practices on the information technology.

The candidate must have the ability to prioritize projects and tasks based on business requirements with strong focus on timely project completion. The Senior Systems Administrator is expected to work well in a team and independently, as well as to have the ability to effectively present ideas orally and in writing. He/She must have the ability to properly assess the nature of the technical issues/questions and determine ways to implement innovative and cost-effective solutions.

The incumbent will participate in the Systems Engineering 24x7 on-call rotation, to ensure the eBusiness infrastructure is functional, and will provide senior technical support to our global business partners. Occasional travel will be required.

The Senior Systems Administrator:
- Builds and deploys systems and maintains infrastructure;
- Secures systems; documenting security needs and strategy;
- Supports server systems updating application software and security tools including backup and restoration services;
- Maintains and administers hardware systems (Sun and Linux);
- Maintains backup resources for (Veritas Netbackup);
- Installs, configures, and maintains operating systems and application software (Red Hat Linux and Solaris);
- Provides thorough project documentation;
- Create and maintain proper project plans, track progress and with various team representatives to address potential issues;
- Designs storage area network infrastructure.df-tc

Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience as Systems Engineer/Administrator
- Strong knowledge of Solaris and Linux (Red Hat)
- Operating System (OS) security skills
- Installation and configuration of OS and tools
- Solid Veritas experience (VM, Netbackup, Clustering)
- OS and hardware troubleshooting skills
- Patch management experience
- RDP and Jumpstart expertise
- Shell scripting (KSH/Perl)
- networking knowledge
- Web infrastructure design experience
- Project management experience
*The following skills are desirable:
- Knowledge of BMC tools, Apache, and DB
- ISS RealSecure and System scanner experience
