Description

The Investment Systems Team has an immediate and exciting opening for an Applications Sr System Analyst. The ideal candidate would be part of a team of 7-10 professionals that provide support for variety of investment-centric applications. These applications serve a 150+ user base across 4 locations world-wide. This is a great opportunity to learn the investments business. We have a dynamic, multi-platform environment that will provide the opportunity to enhance your skill set. In this position, you will be exposed to a wide variety of business processes and functions, including: portfolio management, equity and derivatives trading, securities processing, portfolio accounting and compliance monitoring.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include:
.Diagnosing system, process and data exceptions and their remediation.
.Availability Monitoring
.Business Analysis
.Systems Analysis and Design
.Software Development
.Application Integration
.DR and BCP Design and Testing

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The ideal candidate would have:

.A minimum of five years experience supporting mission critical applications in an investment management and trading environment.
.A demonstrated track record of quality customer service
.Excellent oral and written communication skills
.The ability to complete tasks with a minimum of oversight
.Excellent problem solving skills
.The ability to work effectively in a high stress environment
.To adhere to best practices around change management and production support

.The ability to work in team atmosphere.
.A willingness to learn the functional and technical details of every application.
.Experience with all phases of the SDLC process

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

The ideal candidate would have 4+ years experience with:

.VAX/VMS or OpenVMS and DCL
.FORTRAN, Basic, C or another procedural language
.SQL (Oracle, Sybase, or MSSQL)
.Microsoft Windows (Client and Server)
.Unix (File systems and Scripting)
.Java
.Microsoft Visual Studio & at least one language (VB, C#, C++, etc)
.Microsoft .NET,
.XML, HTML
.At least one Scripting Language (Windows, Perl, Python, Javascript, etc)
