Description
Senior computer system engineer in a dynamic IT environment to support large customer account. The candidate will design, install, configure and support high-speed servers, provide day-to-day onsite administrative support for hardware and associated systems. Maintain network and hardware servers, analyze problems, and monitor the environment to ensure its availability. Responsible for the efficient use of servers and ensure that the design, configuration and implementation allows all of the components, including computers, the network, and software, to fit together and work properly.

The candidate will monitor and adjust the performance of existing servers and continually survey the data center to determine future capacity needs. Troubleshoot problems reported by users and by automated monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future servers and networks. Provide technical assistance, support, and advice to customers and internal users.

The candidate will troubleshoot, determine root cause and interpret problems and provide technical support for hardware, software, and systems. The prospective administrator will be required to have extensive experience with Microsoft Windows environments and may be required to possess industry certifications such Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator MCSA certification.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Installing and configuring Microsoft Windows Servers
- Installing and configuring new hardware/software
- Adding/deleting/modifying user account information
- Fax server maintenance and troubleshooting
- Conduct root cause and develop corrective actions
- Responsibility for environment security
- Documenting the configuration of the systems
- Troubleshooting any reported problems
- System performance tuning
- On-call support on a 7x24 on rotation basis
- Project management experience helpful.
- Applying operating system configuration updates
- Answering technical support questions.

Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Microsoft Certification(s) are a plus
NetApp Certification is a plus.

Minimum of 5-7 years of related technical support experience. Requires advanced knowledge and experience in a full range of technology platforms and systems.

- Siteminder experience a plus.
- Extensive Active Directory Experience is required

- Microsoft SMS
- WINS/DNS Management
- IIS 6.0 experience
- TCP/IP understanding
- OSI troubleshooting ability
- In Depth Experience developing security policies
- Enterprise ant-virus (McAfee)
- Microsoft ISA Proxy Servers
- Content Filtering (SmartFilter)
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs.df-tc
