Senior Systems Engineer

I. Summary: Senior Systems Engineer for the ACS Health Management Solutions (HMS) business unit in Richmond, Virginia. Hands-on system engineer capable of deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting computing technologies, as well as managing priorities and assignments. The position will support systems in multiple datacenters which house a variety of web, call center, point-of-sale, and batch processing applications, that provide healthcare IT data services. Will require participation in on-call engineer rotation duties. Position reports to the Northeast Regional IT Services Manager.

II. Primary Job Responsibilities: Architect, deploy, manage and troubleshoot distributed computing technologies in support of the ACS HMS business unit. Interfacing with internal and external vendor IT resources to get HMS initiatives implemented.

III. Education and Experience:

Education: Undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline preferred, or comparable industry experience or education.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience managing and supporting information technology infrastructure.


IV. Job Skills:

· Must have a positive attitude, be self motivated and willing to work through critical issues until resolution
· Positive and professional interaction with internal and external customers
· Proven ability to work in a real-time, POS data center environment where clients expect/require high availability system support
· Demonstrated expertise in applicable areas including change control, problem management, incident management, documentation, infrastructure architecture, operations monitoring, and troubleshooting.
· Comprehension or N-Tier architectures and SOA.
· Functioning knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
