Sr. Systems Engineer

Adecco Engineering & Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technologies professionals, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer in Lincoln, RI. This is a Direct Hire opportunity for a top client who is expanding in the area.

We are seeking a Windows guru with a Cisco background that is open to 20% travel in the Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut areas. The right candidate will be able to comfortably present to clients, make recommendation and keep calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities Include:
Provide 3rd tier support to clients by troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving users and systems issues.
Act as third point of escalation for level 1 and 2 support personnel.

Daily responsibilities include:
System monitoring, alerting, problem logging, and coordinating tasks effectively to troubleshoot issues for prompt resolution.
Perform installation, setup and upgrades of existing and new hardware as well as maintenance of infrastructure equipment as necessary.
Work autonomously and within a group towards common goals.
Participate in pre-sales activities and solution development.
Hands on configuration and implementation of solutions.
Provide training to clients as needed and create documentation of solution specifics for client use.

Qualification Required:
7+ years experience delivering technical solutions from planning to implementation.
MCSE Windows 2003 certified with extensive experience with MS Products: Windows Vista, Windows 2003/2008 Server, Exchange 2000/2003/2007, MS Outlook, IIS, SQL Server, and strong networking experience working with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP and WINS.
Cisco certification desired. Experience with routing (T1/T3, EIGRP, BGP, Frame Relay), Cisco ASA, and switching (L2, L3, Spanning-Tree, Port Channels).
Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, group policies, Global Catalogs, Directory Replication.
Solid understanding of Microsoft and Cisco's Best Practices Policies.
Working knowledge of SAN storage solutions.
Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Citrix 3.x and 4.x implementations.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
