Adecco Engineering & Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technologies professionals, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer. This is a Contract to Permanent opportunity for one of our clients in Suffolk County.

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer candidate that has an extensive Windows background. Will be responsible for 3rd tier support, working to troubleshoot and resolve operating system, hardware and software problems for Servers and associated peripherals. Also responsible to oversee technical projects, recommend and assess new technology and establish new process to improve current environment.

Technical Skills Required:
Install, configure, administer and support MS Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 operating systems for all servers
Configure and administer Active Directory, IIS, ISA, DNS, Wins and DHCP
Install, configure and support MS Exchange Server 2003/2007, SharePoint Server, MIIS environment
Install, configure and support HP iSCSI enterprise storage solution.
Install, configure and support Veritas NetBackup solution
Assemble, configure and support state-of-the-art server and associated peripherals.
Prepare and follow detailed technical project assessments and plans
Knowledge of networking (LAN & WAN) architecture and equipment (cabling, switches, hubs, etc).
Advanced knowledge in configuring and support MS Exchange Server environment
Advanced knowledge in configuring and support MS Internet Information Server environment
Advanced knowledge in configuring Office suite, including Outlook

Minimum Qualifications
Proven knowledge/competency in the above Technical Skills requirements. Any technical certification in one or more of those skills is desired.
MCSE desired, but not required.
Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years Full time experience in a systems engineering or support role.
Must be able to work well as a self-starter, and be able to work well independently and in a team environment.
