Description
Overall responsibility for systems availability, capacity planning and management, system performance, configuration, and software and hardware installations. Gathers, analyzes, and translates business requirements, technology trends, and current system constraints into overall system and technology requirements. Advanced knowledge of DNS , specifically BIND 9. Administer Veritas Volume Manager, Netbackup, and Cluster applications.

Required Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills: 5-7 years system administration/engineering on UNIX platform. Sparc / Solaris hardware / OS troubleshooting. Sun Solaris administration & implementation. Shell programming (ksh, csh, etc.) & Support. TCP/IP, NFS , RAID operations. Sun-based hardware assembly and troubleshooting on Enterprise class machines. Veritas, disk management. Veritas Netbackup experience. Veritas Cluster experience. Solaris Performance Tuning. Ability to work as part of a small team developing and supporting a 24x7 internet business.

Desired Degrees/Majors/Accreditations/Skills: Unix and Veritas certifications highly desirable. Computer Science degree preferred.df-tc
