We have an immediate need for a Senior Systems Programmer JOB DESCRIPTION Can work remote from home. The Senior Systems Programmer will have primary responsibility for supporting and maintaining high systems availability and seamless operations of all types of Document, Output, and Imaging Management Services for the client. This includes all UNIX, Wintel, and Mainframe software and hardware specific to printing and imaging systems. Responsibilities will include break/fix and maintenance of print/imaging infrastructure, incident management support, implementation services, and documentation of incident recovery and process improvements. Additional responsibilities may include change management procedures as well as product evaluations and testing,. Responsibilities Maintain the highest level of availability and performance for Print environment and associated products. Resolve 1st and 2nd level Print incidents. Participate in on-call duties and shift coverage as business requires. Effectively utilize tools and process to facilitate problem resolution in the document management services environment. Develop troubleshooting policies, methodologies, and standards to ensure high availability. Update required documentation for process management policies and guidelines, including incident, change and problem management. Periodically conduct and participate in meetings, reviews and process improvement activities. Conduct general research in order to technically familiarize oneself with clients print environment. General understanding of Release Management and the associated impact, from a Command Center perspective, of Hot Fixes and Service Packs for production deployment by another team. Provide print training and documentation to lower level associates. Periodically participate in identifying, defining, compiling, documenting and reporting metrics for management. Work with clients and vendors to ensure completion of installation and maintenance within time, budget, and resource constraints Minimal Qualifications 6+ years of technical experience working in a document management environment. Proven ability to produce results with minimal to no supervision. Experience with printing and imaging systems software and hardware across multiple platforms including Unix, Mainframe, and Wintel. Must have excellent problem analysis and critical thinking skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and broadly. Preferred Qualifications Advanced consultative skills - working collaboratively with customers/clients toward a mutual goal. Strong logical and analytical skills - ability to get to the root of an issue. Ability to deal with uncertainty and complex customer requirements - bring order from chaos. Ability to construct and use models of systems, processes and situations. Ability to be decisive; make decisions based on technical and business assessments. Ability to translate between business partner needs and technology provider services. May instruct and guide lower level technical professionals. Knowledge of IT work tracking system such as Remedy. Good knowledge of ITIL principles. Good knowledge of Kepner-Tregoe. Good understanding of large corporate IT operations. BS or equivalent experience.
