Description
Senior Technical Support Analyst
This salaried exempt position reports directly to the IT Manager and is primarily responsible for information systems
infrastructure support for Local and Wide Area Networks, servers, PC clients, data communications, and server and client side
software applications and operating systems for all locations within the Florida Business Unit.
Responsibilities:
. Infrastructure administration consisting mainly of Microsoft and Cisco technologies.
. Hardware/Software support, lease upgrades for servers and clients, hardware/software updates for servers and clients.
. Provide secondary support to junior technical support analyst and third level support to help desk technician to
resolve user issues in time allowed under internal customer support service agreement.
. Provide primary help desk support, when needed.
. Confer with and advise colleagues of recommended course of action for server support, problem determination,
creation of documents and Level III technical support.
. Monitor and maintain back-up tapes for assigned locations.
. Monthly site visits.
. Regularly write project progress reports.
. Teach and coach colleagues and junior members of department on technical support issues.
. Budget projects and compare pricing to keep costs to a minimum.
. Daily server checks and updates as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
. A.S. Degree in Computer Science or related degree; plus 3-5 years of job related experience, required.
. MCSE 2000 Certification required.
. Exchange 2000 Server experience required.
. Knowledge of network operating systems; MS Windows 2000 Server, Windows 98, 2000 and XP workstation, MS
Exchange, MS Project, Citrix Metaframe, LAN/WAN hardware/software and topologies, analytical skills and wireless
data communication technologies, routers, basic cabling, data circuits.
. First level client support for AS-400.
. Ability to effectively multi-task in fast-paced environment under constant time restraints.
. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain patient with users is a must.
. Strong English communication skills, both oral and written. The analytical ability to share complicated technical
information and ideas with users in layman terms, when necessary.
. Willingness to confer with colleagues to resolve issues in an efficient manner, when necessary and to regularly share
information about on-going projects.
. Strong project management skills with proper documentation support.
. Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills, required.
. The ability to demonstrate significant self-starting behavior.
. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts, as applicable.
. The physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
. Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills, required.
. Good driving record and the ability to maintain a good driving record as well as geographic knowledge of Florida.
. Overnight travel (up to 20%) required.
