Description
Responsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance and operation of the Microsoft Windows Domain Structure, Active Directory, network services, and numerous member servers and application within Blount's multi-site network.

Participates in the management of areas of the network infrastructure; including routers, switches, wiring and firewalls.

Assigns tasks and monitors progress of team members as a project leader. Develops and implements policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security and disaster recovery.

Researches and evaluates new technologies, and coordinates activities of hardware, software telecommunications, support and training vendors.

Provides second-level PC hardware and software support at local and remote sites as needed. Provides technical assistance to application-development and support staff.

The successful candidate will have solid knowledge and expertise of large-scale Microsoft Windows network environments, a strong background in networking technologies and the ability to build a stable and highly-available network environment, monitor network performance, and troubleshoot complex technical problems. Must be a team player, highly organized, and able to handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills in email, written and verbal forms required. Must be competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must have a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems with an emphasis in a complex technical discipline. One or more technical certifications highly desirable.

Must have five or more years of progressive, hands-on experience in Information Technology positions. Position requires a strong technical and business background with the proven ability to work on complex projects in a multi-platform and multi-site environment. This experience must include roles as Project Leader, with experience in the planning, coordinating and implementation of technical projects. Microsoft Windows Server 2000/2003 installation, configuration and administration experience in multi-site network environments required. Must have experience with configuration and support of MS Active Directory implementations. Solid understanding of network, system and peripheral technologies required.

Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
. Focused expertise in one or more MS server applications.
. Citrix MetaFrame.
. SAP technical support.
. SAN and NAS storage environments.
. Backup hardware and software.
