Description
This is a technical operations position in support of Project Lightspeed. The individual will lead AT&Ts video operations efforts and team at the first Super Hub Office(SHO) - the centralized programming content acquisition facilities for all national video/audio programming content for distribution to customers. The SHO is a 24 x 7 x 365 technical operations environment.

The position's primary responsibilities are the efficient management and execution of strategy necessary to keep the SHO's high quality video and audio content available to end users. Position encompasses day-to-day management, operation, analysis, planning, documentation, implementation, optimization, routine/scheduled maintenance, demand maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of both hardware and application issues on a variety of equipment and systems that support content reception, signal processing, and encoding within the SHO or a Video Hub Office(VHO).

The incumbent will serve as a video ops representative in design, build, feasibility and cost studies. Performs intermediate- and long-term planning and integration of strategic operations work plans and network operations impacting the SHOs/VHOs. Develops and implements video operations guidelines and standards for SHO/VHO operations teams. Regularly coordinates with vendors/suppliers and reviews quality assurance and performance issues. Coordinates SHO/VHO issues with engineering, network planning, marketing, sales and operations organizations to ensure seamless video services delivery. Leads SHO/VHO problem resolution. Achieves results that have business benefits such as revenue generation, cost savings, and reliability/performance improvements to SHO/VHO performance. Involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, novel concepts and approaches.

Required Skills: A minimum of five years hands-on experience in operating, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting analog or digital Video Headend technologies and managing technical personnel or Production background with experience in Ad insertion, occassionals, blackouts, sport subscriptions, and automation systems. Capable of using complex test and measurement equipment. Requires extensive knowledge of RF, analog, base-band and digital video systems, IP networking, optical transport systems, distributed software applications, and TVRO satellite systems.
