INTRODUCTION:

A Fortune 500 Company in North Atlanta (NorthPoint Mall Area) is in need of a senior project manager with a strong technical background prior to becoming a project manager. The ideal candidate would have prior experience working ina hands-on technical role such as a System Administrator, Developer, DBA, or related discipline that demonstrates technical aptitude.

Also, any prior experience either technical or as a PM in the field of telecom billing experience would be a huge plus and could open up additional opportunities within the client.



SUMMARY OF POSITION:



This position is primarily responsible for the management of large-scale Information Technology projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing deliverables, resources, status, and quality elements throughout the lifecycle for projects that span multiple functions, departments, and processes. The Senior Project Manager acts as a single point of interface to the client and project teams for all resources, support services, vendors, and project sponsors. The projects most managed by the Senior Project Manager are those that have substantial complexity and organizational impact. Examples include enterprise-wide business or system implementations, hardware, network or systems upgrade projects affecting all or much of the organization, or the development or implementation of systems impacting the financial standing or overall welfare of the corporation. The Senior Project Manager ensures that program scope is in line with enterprise goals as he/she becomes the driver to ensure quality projects are delivered on time.





Strong preference given to individuals with significant telcom and/or cellulare billing systems experience. Specific prioer hands on or technical analyst experience in this are prior to becoming a PM would be a huge benefit. Prior experience as PM managing projects around these type of projects would also be a huge plus.

Additionally, large call center, call center technology, and/or call center architecture experience could also open up additional opportunities within the client.

We are looking for a polished, superior communicator who is also a good listener. The chosen candidate will have to explain complex technical and business challenges in the language executives can understand and appreciate, as well as be able to lead technical meetings and planning sessions with the engineering and deployment teams.

This resource should be adept at communicating the status of various initiatives in a clear and concise written manner. Minimal travel could be required.


6 month initial assignment that could turn into a year.




POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:



Identify the goals and scope of the project. Identify the risks associated with the project.



Work with department leaders to secure appropriate executive support of projects and appropriate funding of projects. Work with the department leaders to determine the project budget.
