This innovative well-funded tech start-up needs a crack technical writer to help us get our message out there. Our engineers and scientists are too busy putting the final touches on our RF ASIC product to document our product for our various audiences. That will be your job.

We are patent pending on a number of elements that together will allow a radio enabled device -- cellphone, walkie talkie, whatever -- to skip frequencies and protocols so that it will always be connected. Thats what we are bringing to market. We need you to present our company and our product to the world, other scientists, other companies, and customers.

Technical Writer Performance Objectives

Read company materials, white papers, journals and other materials in order to become familiar with RF and ASIC technology in general and TCHs technology in particular.
Interview scientists, engineers and company executives to complete familiarization with Tchs technology and market applications.
Confer with company personnel to determine nature of materials to be created.
Prioritize projects and create project timelines for delivery of materials.
Produce written materials that are accurate and clearly written for predetermined technical and/or non-technical audiences.
Select or create drawings, diagrams, charts and other visual materials for inclusion in finished product as cover art or technical illustrations.
Edit, standardize or make changes to material prepared by other company personnel.
Maintain records and files of materials produced as well as production records.

This position will initially be a 1099 position with conversion to permanent employee status upon mutual agreement later in the year. Permanent 1099s are also encouraged to apply as that arrangement may work as well. We intend to be flexible about working from home arrangements since the companys technical personnel are dispersed nationwide. Our Los Angeles office is centrally located in the Valley and convenient to freeways.




Requirements:

BA/BS degree. Computer Science, Mathematics or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years technical writing experience in computer hardware, semiconductor or telecommunications arenas. Writing experience should include first generation documentation authoring.
Excellent writing, editing, analytical, and proofreading skills that can be demonstrated with samples of previous work.
Proficiency with Windows-based word processing/publishing applications.
Proficiency with graphics applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Framemaker.
Superior ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
Superior ability to work independently while retaining team player orientation.
Superior ability to leverage the technical knowledge of other THC personnel into written products that highlight TCHs expertise and technologies.
