We have an immediate need for a Senior Telecom Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for a Senior Telecom Technician/Engineer for a 7 months contract!!

Skills/Experience Required:

Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience. Requires basic knowledge of electronics, electricity or discipline gained through technical education training and a minimum of one year directly related work experience in testing light wave transmission equipment.

Other Skills/Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications equipment, performing optical level measurements and adjustments, performing optical back reflection measurements, commissioning and provisioning fiber optic SONET systems and Optical Amplifiers (including Ultra Long Haul) to companys standards, troubleshooting and resolving equipment problems, verify error performance, and end-end BER performance at OC192 and OC48 rates. Requires ability to use hand tools, electronic test equipment and computer terminals. DXC expansion skills a plus.

Test requirements include running/verifying optical fibers (interbay, intrabay, and to/from LDF), performing optical level measurements and adjustments, performing optical back reflection measurements, commissioning and provisioning Terminal and OLA network elements to Vs. standards, troubleshooting and resolving equipment problems, aligning order wire, labeling equipment and fibers, verifying equipment and housekeeping alarms via Clients Business Network Management Center, rewiring housekeeping alarms as needed, verify error performance, and end-end BER performance at OC192 and OC48 rates. Requires ability to use hand tools, electronic test equipment and computer terminals. Equipment types will include Nortel and Fujitsu OC48/OC192 Terminal and regen equipment on NT MOR, Siemens Optical amps, and Ciena/Siemens/Lucent ULH Optical amps.
