Description
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Manage multiple projects and priorities to include the design and maintenance of core routing/switching and entire network upgrades.
- Integrates and designs new infrastructure solutions using Cisco technologies and external connections to include VPNs and dedicated circuits.
- Will perform engineering and testing of new data technologies. Will also test voice and data integrated technologies in a lab environment.
- Assist in the design and engineering of the bank’s disaster recovery efforts by reconfiguring and documenting the bank’s network infrastructure per test requirements.
- Actively involved in design and support of Internet/Intranet DMZ architectures to provide highly secure and resilient networks. Work closely with Data Security Architecture staff to achieve this aim.
- Provide engineering documentation and third level support for network installation and support teams.
- Troubleshoot complex LAN and WAN problems across multiple network components; perform problem isolation with the use of diagrams with the ability to understand logical and physical networks.
- Architect and design new infrastructure solutions to include; electrical, cabling, and space allocation.

- Experience working on enterprise projects with engineers and developers across multiple technical disciplines and various business units
- Highly organized and can work independently with minimal supervision
- Self motivated and a strong desire to learn new technologies
- Manage and/or interface with technical resources representing various external vendors
- Available to work off-hours during implementations
- Provide on-call support for complex engineering problems as assigned
- Troubleshooting experience in a large enterprise environment
- Strong interpersonal skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Strong Cisco IOS routing and switching concepts and skills
- Ability to upgrade, manage, and maintain the following router and switch hardware platforms; 7600, 7200, 3800, 2800, 1800, 6500, 4500, 3700, 4000
- Experienced with network security and DMZ concepts
- Experienced with GRE, EIGRP, MPLS, and IPSEC
- Familiarity with Content Switches
- Experienced with Cisco AAA concepts
- Experienced with Cisco ACS
- Experienced with Cisco VPN concentrator/VPN client
- Experienced with Visio
- Experienced managing DNS/DHCP ip address assignments
- Experienced with IOS debugging, logging
- Experienced with IOS acls, IOS policy routing, QoS;
- Experienced with network sniffing software (such as Wireshark/Ethereal) or commercial sniffers and protocol analyzers
- Experienced with server operating systems which include Windows, Salaris, and AIX.
- Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure standards
- Familiarity with CiscoWorks, QIP and Visual Select server would be a plus
- Familiarity with IBM mainframe would be a plus
