Description
Senior Tools/Technology Engineer

We need an experienced, professional tools and technology engineer. Primary responsibilities are development and maintenance of our core engine technology, and asset pipeline toolset, for the PC/Windows platform. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years experience in a production game studio working on core game engine technology, as well as working with designers and artists to meet their needs in terms of asset production tools. The candidate must have demonstrable experience designing and creating stable and usable tools for both in-house and remotely-connected users, as well as the ability to adapt and extend existing engine technology to integrate tools into a production asset pipeline. The ideal candidate will need to possess a high degree of flexibility in terms of design and implementation processes, and good communication skills with the tools and technology end-users.

Responsibilities include:
* Participation in assessing tools needs, and their impact on the runtime and data pipeline design
* Identifying, designing and implementing core runtime feature additions and optimizations
* Estimation of tasks needed to accomplish new tools and tool/runtime features/improvements
* Ongoing support for the tools, runtime and data pipeline
* Observe and apply coding, design and process best-practices in adherence to internal and industry standards

Position requirements:
* 5+ years demonstrable software engineering experience in a production game studio environment
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
* Demonstrable comprehension of game development concepts, including 3D graphics and animation, computational geometry, linear algebra, multithreaded execution and optimization strategies
* Demonstrable understanding of compiler and operating system fundamentals
* Experience developing/maintaining tools and exporters for 3D graphics content
* Experience with data-driven 3D game engine design, implementation and development
* Fluency in C++, C# and Managed C++ (C++/CLI)
* Familiarity with Windows.Forms, Win32 API, MFC, and related GUI toolkits
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Ability accurately to estimate tasks, and deliver on those estimates
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, customer-service-oriented attitude

Pluses:
* Two or more shipped game titles with a professional game studio
* Experience developing game engine technology on multi-core platforms (PC, Xbox360, PS3)
* Current experience with COLLADA/COLLADA Physics/COLLADA FX
* Current experience with Maya
* Active interest in current research and developments in game development technology
* Experience developing command-line tools
