NVR Inc. is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to assume the position of Senior UNIX System Administrator in our Corporate Office in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities:
As Senior UNIX System Administrator you will be responsible for:
  • Performing UNIX technical analysis and operational support of AIX and Linux environments.
  • Providing configuration and operation support of IBM FastT and HP StorageWorks 4100 SANs.
  • Administering VERITAS storage manager and volume replicator environments
  • Operation and maintenance of the operating system including application of patches and upgrades.
  • Hardware / OS performance analysis and tuning, enhancements and corrective actions.
  • Script development to automate processes and monitor system performance.
  • Data backup and disaster recovery process .
  • General troubleshooting.
  • All phases of environment life cycle. Includes hardware setup, configuration, capacity planning.
  • Supervision of UNIX System Administrator

    Requirements:
    To be considered for the position of Senior UNIX System Administrator, you should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience.
    Experience with:
  • IBM P-Series, AIX
  • IBM P5, LPAR
  • Redhat Linux
  • Unix shell scripts (csh, ksh)
  • IBM FastT (500, 900)
  • HP StorageWorks 4100
  • VERITAS Storage and Replication Manager administration
  • AIX Performance Tuning
  • Perl and C programming a plus
  • Informix Database skills a plus
  • Windows Server administration a plus
  • Must have good team, organizational and planning skills and stringent time management skills to balance dynamic workloads in a complex environment.
