Description:
Visto is seeking a Senior User Interface Designer to join our growing User Experience team in Redwood Shores. The Sr. UI Designer will design handheld wireless applications across all wireless platforms, as well as web, desktop, and enterprise server applications. This is a demanding role in a fast-paced environment that offers the right candidate a chance to work on some of the most exciting professional products in the market today.

Responsibilities:
? Design highly usable interfaces with the best possible user experience, working with engineers, product managers, and program managers.
? Produce high level flows and detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate designs
? Work with the usability specialist to validate designs and rapidly iterate on findings
? Maintain current knowledge of what's possible with the technologies and interface standards across the broad range of platforms we support
? Work with all customer-focused product teams to create a superior end-user/customer experience for all Visto product lines and related online interfaces
? Work collaboratively with program managers to create the functional specification document
? Create any necessary UI resources, (icons, graphics, text)
? Work closely with our engineers to implement the designs
? Evaluate proposed partner applications for quality and suitability of their existing user interfaces

Educational Requirements:
? BA/BS or MA/MS in Human Factors, Behavioral Science, or closely related discipline


Skills & Required Experience:
? 5 years experience designing usable interfaces for PDA?s, wireless handheld devices, web-based applications and desktop platforms
? Experience with user-centered design methodology
? Demonstrated work experience in human factors and usability engineering,
? Strong information and interaction design experience
? Strong visualization and presentation skills, (illustration, graphic design)
? Ability to explore and comprehend the needs of the user
? Articulate communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
? Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based development environment
? Passionate about design, usability and human factors
? Strong portfolio of successful products and artifacts


Plusses:
? Experience with complex, carrier-deployed enterprise and end-user solutions
? Experience with Palm, Windows Mobile, Symbian, or J2ME environments
? Fluency in French, Italian, German, Spanish or Japanese
