Description
Our client, a Software Development company is seeking a Senior VB.NET Developer for a twelve to eighteen month project. The Senior VB.NET Developer should have substantial experience with VB.NET and the migration of classic Visual Basic applications into VB.NET. Knowledge of add-on VB.NET tools and components for graphing, grids, etc., is a plus.THE PROJECT IS BROKEN INTO TWO PHASES THAT INCLUDE:Phase 1:Work with up to four other software developers to merge three separate but related Visual Basic 5.0 software products into a single code base. This will require some code reorganization to promote reuse and easier code expansion in the future as much as possible. Contract developer should have substantial experience with "classic" Visual Basic (VB 5.0/6.0). Database programming experience is not required. Expected duration of this phase is three to six months. This phase began in March 2008 with in-house resources.Phase 2:Provide expertise and assist with process of migrating the single code base from Phase 1 into VB.NET (Visual Studio 2008). Educate four classic VB 5.0 experienced developers in migration issues and VB.NET as part of the migration process. The Senior VB.NET Developer should have substantial experience with VB.NET and the migration of classic Visual Basic applications into VB.NET. Expected duration of this phase is six to twelve months.
