Description
Software Configuration and Operational support tasks include but at not limited to the following:
Backup Solution Development: 1. Determine Backup Solution to be Configured, 2. Document Backup Solution on Configuration Form, 3. Present Backup Solution to Customer.
Initial Backup Configuration: 1. Remedy ticket for initial configuration, 2. Installation of Backup Client, 3. Configuration of Backup into Test Schedule, 4. Execute Test Backup, 5. Correct Test Backup Issues, 6. Execute Test Restore, 7. Correct Test Restore Issues
Production Backup Configuration: 1.Remedy ticket for production configuration, 2. Configure Backup into Production Schedule, 3. Execute Test Backup, 4. Correct Test Backup Issues, 5. Execute Test Restore, 6. Correct Test Restore Issues
Decommission Production Backup: 1. Remedy ticket for decommission, 2. Remove Backup from Production Schedule, 3. Track/Disposal of existing Backup Media
Ongoing Backup Maintenance and Support:
1. Check Backup Report for Backup Failures
2. Create Remedy ticket for Backup Failure
3. Notification of Backup Failures to Customer Contacts
4. Diagnose Backup Failures, 5. Correct Backup Failures, 6. Maintain Backup Reporting Tools, 7. Maintain Backup Software
8. Maintain Backup Server Hardware/OS
9. Communication to Customer Contacts
10. Maintain Backup Configuration Form

Plan and migrate backup from EDM solution to Veritas NetBackup for approximately 70 servers.

Experience/Skills
1 Senior - a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience, and demonstrated superior knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge and experience with Veritas NetBackup and media servers required. Veritas NetBackup Certified Engineer status desirable. Sun Solaris system administration experience. Windows 2000/2003 backup administration knowledge. Oracle and SQL Server knowledge. EMC EDM knowledge desired. Large StorageTek tape unit with ACSLS knowledge desired. Knowledge and/or experience with EMC SAN and NAS storage and McData SAN switches. Knowledge and or experience with disk to disk backup solutions. HP-UX, Linux, AIX, and Novell knowledge desired.

Other desired skills:
1 Senior - a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience, and demonstrated superior knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge and experience with Veritas NetBackup and media servers required. Veritas NetBackup Certified Engineer status desirable.
