Summary

The Sr. Voice Platform engineer is a key member of the team that creates Clients highly-scalable, fault-tolerant, standards-based speech platform.



The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development for distributed systems, experience with large clusters of heterogeneous systems, and a solid history of designing, developing, debugging, and supporting large scale fault-tolerant software applications.

Responsibilities

Work closely with other platform team members on the design, development, and enhancement of the speech platform

Architect and develop Clients next-generation MRCP-based VoiceXML interpreter

Own the enhancement and maintenance of the Client Cafe website and developer tools

Assist in developing methodologies, design standards, and coding standards to ensure delivery of highly scalable and redundant software systems.



Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

8+ year track record in developing high-quality, scalable networked software

Strong skills in architecting complex systems

Java experience

Working knowledge ofscripting languages such as javascript, Ruby, Python, and/or PERL

Working knowledge of databases (Oracle, mySQL)

Familiarity with Unix (Linux preferred) development and execution environment.

Strong debugging skills

Technical project leadership experience

At least three of the areas below

Speech platform standards (VoiceXML, CCXML)

Knowledge of VOIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and IMS

Speech Recognition (particularly Nuance ASR Engine)

Performance Analysis/Tuning

Caching/Web architecture (experience with Squid a big plus)

CTI Integration

XML Parser Integration (e.g. Xerces)

SOAP/Web Services

Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
