We have an urgent position for a financial client. We are looking for a Senior WAN Engineer. It will be a contract to hire position (fulltime position after 3 month)

POSITION TITLE: Senior Network Engineer

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director Network Services

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Technology Services

Major Responsibilities

Working under general direction and with minimal supervision, tunes, maintains and plans Wide Area Network (WAN) growth to meet user/business requirements. Provides engineering support and advanced problem resolution for WAN devices, communications links and systems, and complex connectivity issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides architecture, engineering and configuration of WAN devices and associated communication links and systems. Proactively designs, coordinates and conducts preventive maintenance and directs/performs WAN changes and new system implementations.
Responsible for researching, writing and presenting to management complex architecture documents describing current WAN function, layout, suggested improvements, data flow, etc.
Assigns, directs and performs diagnosis of problems as they occur, interfaces with vendor support engineers to reproduce environment problems for analysis, conducts tests, follows up on chronic issues and either corrects the problem or escalates the problem to the vendor.
Designs, plans and extracts data from a variety of platforms, provides advanced, detailed analyses and maintains updates to documentation and procedures.

Senior Network Engineer (continued)

Designs approach, Coordinates, and performs accurate tracking of problems and action taken in order to analyze trends and service levels. Provides routine and ad hoc reports to management. Monitors and ensures adherence to organization standards and processes in performing tasks assigned within technical team.
Provides technical and operational support to colleagues, peer training and mentoring to less experienced systems engineers. Performs routine review of other's work for accuracy and completeness, reviews proposed change control documents and associated procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Assume leadership role for projects, task and initiatives within Technology Services.
Responsible for developing project plans, task lists, documenting cost benefit analysis for technical solutions through completion.

Experience/Skills
Education/Experience Requirements

Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, and/or 7+ years WAN systems engineering experience in a company of similar size, scope and complexity.
. Advanced knowledge of the requirements of a variety of WAN hardware and software and of a variety of platforms, with in?depth knowledge of GBB-specific standards including Cisco switches and routers, routed and routing protocols.
Ability to design and prepare management and technical reports, presentations and system documentation.
Strong analytical, problem?solving, and communication skills
