Senior Web DesignerLocation: Austin, TexasJob Description:We are looking for someone who has strong, flexible design and development skills to help create Websites that are technically sound, user-friendly and profitable. As a Senior Web Designer at Vertive, you will have the opportunity work on a next-generation personal shopping service.Note: This is not a flash or interactive media position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWebsite & Interface Design * Develop & manage user interface & design strategy for multiple websites * Create new wireframes, user-interface components and comp designs for all websites * Image creation and manipulation as required to support web development tasks * Develop big ideas, and execute flawlessly against them in a highly collaborative environment * Will serve as a subject matter expert in Usability, Information Architecture, and Web DesignData Architecture * Create the information architecture for, lead generation and shopping comparison websites * Provide analysis, recommendations and implementations to optimize web interface * Design layouts & templates for maximum usability within existing data sets * Execute on Information Architecture of interfaces, taxonomies and metadata frameworks, and templates within the content management systemFunctional Requirements * Understand functional requirements for multiple website designs of varying scope * Lead the creative direction of multiple websites with input from multiple departments and disciplinesCoordination & Project Management * Serve as the project manager on the front-end design for multiple development efforts * Coordinate tasks and workflow with a multi-disciplinary team of editors, developers, and othersQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty of the job and accept special projects as assigned.Required * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * 5-7 years experience designing websites * 3 years experience with Information Architecture and/or Usability Testing * 5-7 years of experience with HTML and CSS layouts * 2 years experience working on E-Commerce websites * Familiarity with Web Standards * Ability to work on several projects concurrently. * Expert level with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Fireworks * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work as part of a team or individually with minimal supervision * Excellent time management skills and work ethic * Desire and ability to work in a fast paced environmentPreferred * Knowledge of cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility issues * Experience using server-side scripting to create data-driven websites * Experience integrating front-end templates with back-end functionality * Ability to hand code websites in the text-editor of your choice * Experience implementing search engine optimization techniques * Experience as a subject matter expert in Usability and/or Information Architecture * Start-up experience preferred or a self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibilitydf-tc
