Description
The Performance Management and Advanced Troubleshooting (PMAT) team provides enterprise level 3rd tier support for the organization's most critical applications. Team members are considered subject matter experts and are among the top technical minds in their field. The PMAT Engineer works on problems requiring not only a deep understanding of their specialty, but a solid awareness of other technologies. He/she applies comprehensive functional knowledge in problem resolution and actively contributes to the development of new methods, procedures, processes or systems and understand the impact of these changes.

The Senior Web Support Engineer leads functions and/or projects based on experience and knowledge. The Senior Web Support Engineer may be responsible for decisions impacting a team or project and may provide input into the decision making process for larger initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities for this role may include:

Performance management and troubleshooting support of existing web and application services. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues, security review and recommendation, trend analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning and log / event analysis. Adherence to firm standard policies and procedures and change control processes. Interface with other US IT technologists and teams to provide requirements, develop appropriate procedures, analyze performance data and implement solutions.

Requirements:


Desire four plus years of web application support, troubleshooting, and performance analysis and tuning.
Must be a team player with a strong interpersonal and communications skills to interface and work closely with the management staff, project managers, application developers, database administrators, and other teams in the firm.
Self-starter, motivated, showing initiative and creativity.
Requires minimum supervision to successfully carry out job assignments.
Independent problem solving and self-direction.
Must have experience in performing overall application design validation.

Required skillset:

Advanced skillset in Microsoft IIS / .NET Web Server
Familiarity with Web server concepts and architecture
Advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of web based applications
Performance Tuning of web based applications
Apache Web Server experience a plus
Basic Solaris / Unix skills a plus
Solid Documentation Skills
Solid Communications Skills

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Willingness to learn new application platforms.

Must be willing to work overtime as necessary for day-to-day operations and occasional weekend or after-hours coverage. May be required to carry cell phone, pager or blackberry.
